Rawlings Street

Rawlings Street, Chelsea

Rawlings Street is now a bright and airy townhouse in fashionable Chelsea with great volume rarely found in terrace period houses.

Having been modified in the 90s with a dated double height wooden conservatory, the ground and lower ground spaces were not fully connected for easy living. We created new timber staircases that connect the living spaces. A double height sash window to the garden can be enjoyed from the living spaces inside and out. The airy view from the ground floor to the dining area and the garden gives a feeling of space and tranquillity.

Stone floors, polished plaster and glass is softened with the use of natural timber. The ribbed timber kitchen which conceals a guest loo was relocated to the centre of the lower ground floor and connects the family tv area and the dining space, creating a cohesive entertaining space.
